Bluejay fans invited to Perry Community Homecoming 2021

The sophomore class float for the 2016 PHS Homecoming parade was a winner.

The Perry City Hall invited all area businesses, organizations and individuals Thursday to participate in the 2021 Perry Community Homecoming Parade on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m. The parade is sponsored by the city of Perry.

“Let’s show our Perry School Pride and celebrate our area youth during this festive week,” the city said Thursday. “Entries are needed for the parade, and spectators are asked to line the parade route and show the Perry spirit we have for our community.”

The parade line up will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Perry High School. This year’s parade route will differ from the usual parade routes for the community, proceeding from the high school

  • South on 18th Street to Willis Avenue and then
  • West on Willis Avenue to Eighth Street and then
  • North on Eighth Street to Pattee Street and then
  • East on Pattee Street to 11th Street and then
  • East on McKinley Street to Perry High School.

The route for the parade will lead back to the high school for a Junior Class Fundraising Cookout prior to the Coronation Ceremony of the Homecoming King and Queen at 8 p.m. in the PHS Gymnasium.
