DES MOINES — A total of 15 junior varsity wrestlers from Perry hit the mats at the Des Moines North/Hoover JV tourney Saturday.
Tucker Strough (126 pounds) finished 3-0 with a trio of decisions, with Bryan Funez (160) 3-0 with a decision, a major decision and a pin while Daniel Brinton (170) was 3-0 with two pins and a decision. Also finishing 3-0 was Cesar Ramirez (182), who won by pin, major decision and decision.
Riece Graham (106) was 1-1 with a pin, Wilbur Ramirez (145) 2-1 with a pair of pins, Zach Darr (220) 2-1 with a major decision and a decision and Jonathan Silva (220) 1-1 with a pin.
Jeb Stewart (138) won a decision in finishing 1-2, with Colin Francisco recording a pin while finishing 1-2 at 182 pounds.
Rodrigo Guevara (106), Hunter McDowell (106), Charley Guardado (160), Rylee Ray (182) and Jose Guillen (220) were all also in action for the Bluejays, but were unable to record a victory.
