
The Bock Family Foundation Inc. of Perry, established in 2002 by the estates of Larry Bock and Barbara Bock, bestowed $91,725.82 in grants Wednesday on 21 Dallas County projects at its fall 2022 awards ceremony.
Bock Family Foundation Inc. Board of Directors President Jon Peters and Executive Director Scott Finneseth distributed the awards in the Perry Public Library Community Room. Receiving grants in the fall 2022 grant cycle were:
- Dallas County Conservation Board, $8,000 for RRVT/HTT Connector Phase V
- Dallas County Master Gardeners, $3,370.50 towards Demonstration Garden
- Dallas County Hospital Foundation, $8,000 for Smart ABI machine
- DCH Foundation Family Medicine Clinics, $2,000 for Blessing Box
- First United Methodist Church of Perry, $5,625 to replace windows and gutters
- PACES, $8,000 for Before/After School Program
- Perry Area Child Development Center, $6,000 for tuition assistance
- Perry Little League, $6,800 to reconstruct Junior League field and practice pitcher mounds
- Perry School Foundation, $4,000 toward Perry Veterans Memorial Park Field of Poppies and enhanced lighting
- Perry Area Emergency Food Council, $2,500 for meat protein for Food Pantry
- Nudgers Inc., $2,000 toward concrete re-staining of Big Bike Perry
- Pegasus Inc., $1,047.32 to expand programming and accessibility
- City of Bouton, $6,000 toward Bouton Trailhead
- Minburn Area Firefighters Association, $3,520 for replacement of SCBA cylinders
- City of Minburn, $5,300 towards remodeling Minburn City Hall
- Friends of Minburn Public Library, $1,672 for meeting room tables and chairs
- City of Dallas Center Parks and Recreation, $1,500 for pool amenities
- Linden Public Library Foundation Inc. $1,391 for bookshelf and storage cabinet
- AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport Inc., $2,500 for spay/neuter clinics
- Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency, $7,500 for FlexConnect in city of Perry
- Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa, $5,000 for program funding
The Bock Family Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit supporting organization for the benefit of organizations operated for religious, charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes. In order to receive grant funding projects must be located in Dallas County. Applicants must be a nonprofit organization or a unit of state or local government.
Since its founding, the Bock Family Foundation Inc. has awarded grants totaling more than $2.4 million, including grants awarded in the fall 2022 cycle.
The Bock Family Foundation Inc. Board of Directors is composed of President Jon Peters, Vice President Brent Halling, Secretary Joyce Van Kirk and Directors Jean Bromert, Rusty Burgett, John Powell and the Rev. Kat Stokes. Scott Finneseth is the foundation’s executive director.
