The Bock Family Foundation Inc. announced Friday its second spontaneous donation to several local food pantries and child care centers as they deal with the fallout of the novel cornoavirus global pandemic.
Friday’s $12,000 gift matches the $20,000 donation made April 7 to relieve hunger needs in Dallas County. According to a statement released by the foundation, the Bock Family Foundation continues to help people impacted by COVID-19 beyond the community grants it makes twice each year.
Recognizing that food pantries and child care centers are vital to the well-being of their communities and are likely finding their resources stretched as the pandemic continues, the foundation’s board of directors felt a second spontaneous round of donations could make an impact and provide assistance to a number of local residents.
Donations of $2,000 are being sent to each of the following food banks:
- Good Samaritan Food Pantry in Adel
- Perry Area Food Pantry
- Waukee Area Food Pantry
- Cottage Pantry in Stuart
- Acorns and Oaks Daycare
- PRESBY Child Care Center
Located in Perry, the Bock Family Foundation Inc. was established in 2002 by the Larry Bock and Barbara Bock Estates as a nonprofit organization with a mission to benefit organizations operated for religious, charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes in Dallas County.
The Bock Family Foundation said it is pleased to be able to make these donations to support the local individuals impacted in Perry and their neighboring communities.
