BONDURANT — For the better part of three quarters it appeared things were likely to go Perry’s way during their Raccoon River Conference tilt at Bondurant-Farrar Friday.
The visiting Bluejays had held only narrow leads of 21-18 after one quarter and of 31-29 after two, and while neither team could put the other away, the game was settling into a pattern seemingly more comfortable for Perry, with a bit of up-tempo working in their favor.
Foul trouble then began to plague the guests, and B-F was able to open a 45-41 lead entering the fourth quarter. Perry trailed, 47-45, with six minutes to play, but were suddenly outscored, 14-4, in a three-minute run and could never recover in taking the loss.
The hosts were awarded 17 second-half free throws and cashed in, draining 15 to finish 21-of-27 overall at the line. Perry was crisp, sinking 15-of-20, but could not keep pace.
Tanner Bedier and John Carlson each had 15 points for B-F (5-6, 2-5), with Seth Moeller and Jordan Collins adding 14 points apiece. Isaac Hanson added five points and Mason Storey and Quinn Waterhouse two apiece.
Rashon Ivory hit 8-of-10 free throws as part of a game-high 27 points for Perry. Drew Levan had 10 points and Connor Nielsen nine, with three points from Mark Campos, two from Brendan Ivory and one from Tanner Duffy capping the Perry scoring.
