The Perry Lions Club served some 60 dozen eggs and 40 dozen St. Pat's cinnamon rolls at the BRR Breakfast.

Upwards of 1,000 riders filled the streets of downtown Perry for the 43rd annual BRR Bike Ride to Rippey.

With Second Street no longer a through street, BRR riders were diverted north to Third Street at Bateman Street by Perry Volunteer Fire Department First Assistant Fire Chief Brian Eiteman.

Volunteers at the annual BRR event included, from left, Lois Hoger, Connie McGuire, Sue Leslie, Mary Ann Holcomb and Becky Shelker.

By the time the mass of riders were two miles from the start the throng had started to separate into smaller groups.

With temperatures in the upper-30s and very light winds, about 1,000 two-wheeled enthusiasts set off Saturday morning on the 43rd annual BRR Bike Ride to Rippey.
Sponsored by the Perry Chamber of Commerce, the annual endurance ride drew 535 pre-registrants and several hundred day-of registrants and the usual throng of free riders for the 10 a.m. start.
Events will continue throughout the day and into the evening in Rippey and Perry.
