‘But what will the neighbors stink?’ ask Flushing Out Cancer purple potty people

The Relay for Life of Dallas County purple potties will be popping up around town starting Sept. 16. A $10 donation removes the yard ornament, and a $20 donation sends it to any yard of the donor's choice. A $30 donation buys insurance against the Flushing Out Cancer purple potty.

The royal purple commode, a fixture of the Flushing Out Cancer fundraiser for the Relay for Life of Northern Dallas County, continues making surprise appearances in the Perry area in advance of Saturday’s Relay for Life event set to start at 10 a.m. at the Jim Kaufman Track at Perry High School.

The purple porcelain lent a pleasant accent Tuesday morning to the yard at 16th and Iowa streets, the home of Mark and Karen Einck of Perry, who will now donate $10 to have the ornament removed.

For an additional $10 donation, the Eincks can have the porcelain pulchritude removed form their yard and placed in the yard of someone near and dear. A $30 donation buys insurance against the purple present.

All proceeds from the Flushing Out Cancer prank support the Relay for Life of Northern Dallas County, which celebrates the lives of cancer victims and survivors and funds cancer research.

Saturday’s Relay for Life features the Kick Cancer Collection Connection. Participants are invited to collect their loose change and bring it to Relay where they will then start at one end of the track and lay out the change. The goal is to make a complete circuit of the track and close the circle of change, which will all be donated at the end of the night.
