1. Please tell us a little bit about yourself, Jeremy. What do you want voters to know about you, your qualifications, your intentions as an officeholder?

Perry resident starting in 1986. I attended Perry Junior High School and Perry High School before transferring to Kemper Military School. Shortly after high school, I joined the Navy (B.U.D.s Class 211, LE45 school). I opened my first business in 2006 and have been self-employed since. I’ve had businesses in Perry since 2017. I have served as Second Ward Councilman in Perry since April 2022.

2. Why are you running for elected office? Is it something that you have done before? Are other forms of public service a part of your background?

I am running for reelection in Ward 2. This has been my first term in public office.

3. Are there particular issues that you believe are urgent or important and are facing the residents of Perry? If so, what issues are these? How to you think the city council can address or resolve these issues?

The Downtown area is going to be getting some major beautification upgrades in the coming years. Along with the connector trail coming right through the heart of our city. I think it’s time to recruit and incentivize businesses to fill all our available buildings. We have such a solid foundation to build on and just need to keep improving.

4. What do you envision as the future of Perry? In what direction would you like to lead the town?

We need to continue to build on the great start we have. We have a world class hotel. Unique sports and entertainment venues (Rec Center, Grand Theatre, La Poste) lots of cool shops and places to eat. We need to fill in some gaps and continue on our current path of growth. (Big Dream-some kind of major art project providing a photo opportunity at the confluence of the RRVT and High Trestle trail encompassing 2nd and Willis.)
