1. Please tell us a little bit about yourself, Keith. What do you want voters to know about you, your qualifications, your intentions as an officeholder?

I grew up in Arispe, Iowa, a small town down by Creston. I have served my hometown by representing them on the Southern Iowa Regional Authority. My primary intention is to effectively provide excellent service to the community.

2. Why are you running for elected office? Is it something that you have done before? Are other forms of public service a part of your background?

I firmly believe that if you live in a community to be part of it. What is a better way than to spend time serving in the city government? Most of my public service comes from community organizations. I have been president of the Afton Lions Club, West Des Moines Jaycees and the Perry Eagles. I am proud of the fact that I was able to make all of these organizations grow, add new members and increase participation. With the Jaycees, our meetings went to standing room only.

3. Are there particular issues that you believe are urgent or important and are facing the residents of Perry? If so, what issues are these? How to you think the city council can address or resolve these issues?

I don’t have any particular issues. I do intend to increase the visibility and openness of the city government.

4. What do you envision as the future of Perry? In what direction would you like to lead the town?

I want to see the city continue to grow and to encourage new business in Perry. I would like to see the community grow together with all groups at the table. I believe my approach of walking the ward daily and talking with all people can help by adding a personal and friendly approach.
