Perry Economic Development Inc. Treasurer Eddie Diaz, right, is joined by media partner and sportscaster Shawn Kenney of Knoxville-based M&H Broadcasting for a candidate forum, with office seekers, from left, candidate Keith Nichols, Perry City Council members Barb Wolling and Jeremy Mahler and candidates Dirk Cavanaugh, Sir. A. W. Adams II and Joseph Shelly on hand to answer questions.

Candidates for offices in the Perry city government gathered at the Hotel Pattee Wednesday evening for a forum that reprised many of the topics explored in the Oct. 10 forum at the library.

Unfortunately, the event was poorly attended, and the six candidates outnumbered the audience members in the hotel’s Spring Valley Ballroom.

Answering questions from noted sportscaster Shawn Kenney were mayoral candidates Sir A. W. Adams II and Dirk Cavanaugh, first-ward candidate Joseph Shelly, second-ward incumbent Jeremy Mahler, third-ward incumbent Barb Wolling and third-ward candidate Keith Nichols. At-large Perry City Council member Chuck Schott was unable to attend.

The forum was sponsored by the Perry Economic Development Inc. and its media partner, Knoxville-based M&H Broadcasting Inc.
