The Perry Chamber of Commerce concluded its six-month search for a new executive director this week with the hiring of Lynsi Pasutti, a Stuart resident with experience inĀ  nonprofit, economic development and private business sectors.

“The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce Board is excited to welcome Lynsi Pasutti as the new Perry Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director,” a Chamber statement released Thursday morning said. “Lynsi brings experience in small business and entrepreneurial development, community positioning, and strategic marketing initiatives.

Pasutti is the past president of the Stuart Chamber of Commerce and the current president of the Guthrie County Arts Council. She spent three years promoting west-central Iowa as a leading destination for business and quality of life at Midwest Partnership Economic Development Corp.

Pasutti, a Des Moines native, holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from the College of Saint Benedict in Saint Joseph, Minn. She is a practicing artist, with her own ceramics studio and artisan gallery in Stuart.

“Lynsi believes it takes creativity, passion and collaboration to enhance the economic vitality of rural communities,” the Chamber statement said. “The traditional ‘downtown’ is the literal and figurative heart of any small Iowa town, and the strength of its business network determines the pulse of a community. Lynsi looks forward to assisting the Perry area business community continue to grow and thrive.”

Pasutti fills the position vacated in July with the resignation of former Chamber Executive Director Bob Wilson, who took a new job after six years leading Perry’s quasi-governmental organization of local commercial interests.
