
The All-Raccoon River Conference boys soccer teams were recently announced, and three-time defending outright champion Perry had nine players earn recognition.
Perry (16-5), who will play for third place today at the state soccer tournament, finished RRC play 7-0 for the third consecutive season. Head coach Gary Overla was named Coach of the Year.
Senior Jesus Rodriguez (28 goals, nine assists) was named to the First Team. He holds both the school career (67) and season (28) goals scored records.
Rodriguez was joined on the First Team by fellow seniors Alvaro Soto (2-3) and Alexis Macias (2-6), with junior goalie Anthony Aragon (eight shutouts overall) an unanimous selection.
Senior Alex Castaneda (4-4), junior German Alvarenga (5-3) and sophomore Jehovany Rivera (1-0) were all chosen for the Second Team, with sophomore Anthony Velasco (7-2) and junior Brandon Juarez (3-1) placed on the Honorable Mention roster.
