

After three weeks on the job, including one BRR Bike Ride to Rippey, Chris Cohea is settling into his new position as the marketing and engagement coordinator for the city of Perry.
Cohea brings more than 16 years of communications experience to the position, including the last nine years as program director for the local radio station.
The Elsberry, Missouri, native moved to Perry in 2014 from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Southeast Missouri State University. He minored in human resource management.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to not only work for the city of Perry but help to grow a brand new position,” Cohea said. “Perry has so many things to offer its current and future residents and with the marketing and engagement coordinator position, I have an opportunity to help the city showcase itself to people who have yet to set foot in this wonderful community.”
Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson said Cohea will help the various city departments communicate themselves to the public.
“We are happy to have Mr. Cohea as the marketing and engagement coordinator for the city of Perry,” Peterson said. “He will work collaboratively with all departments to achieve strategic communication goals and provide exceptional, personal customer service to our community members.”
Peterson said Cohea will support and promote Perry’s communication goals by performing a range of activities, including updating website content and social media platforms, writing and editing and producing both written and graphical content for a variety of print and digital projects, developing and implementing a Marketing and Engagement Plan and developing and managing special events.
