Funeral services for Ahmir Jolliff, 11, of Perry will be Thursday, Jan. 11 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church at 1312 Third St. in Perry, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Overflow seating will be available at First Christian Church, across the street from St. Pat’s.
The city of Perry announced Tuesday that the Perry Public Works, Parks and Police departments will be blocking roads for parking prior to the services, beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday.
Local motorists should be aware of the following arrangements:
- Third Street between Pattee and Lucinda streets and Lucinda Street between Third and Fourth streets will be blocked off for family parking.
- The alleyway east of St. Patrick Church, between Pattee and Warford streets, will serve as the route for buses transporting attendees from the Perry Elementary School to the church.
The services will be livestreamed for mourners unable to attend in person.
Visitation for Ahmir will be Wednesday, Jan. 10 at the Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home-Perry Chapel at 1721 Park St. in Perry from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., with the family present from 4-7 p.m. A staging area for media will be available across Park Street at the Violet Hill Cemetery, and the media staging area for the funeral will be at the First Baptist Church at 1220 Fourth St.
The media will not be allowed into the churches or funeral home for interviews or video footage. The members of the media are asked to respect the family during these events and to direct all inquiries to Scott Glover at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home at scott@caldwellparrish.com.
