Clive man allegedly assaults fellow worker over ‘manners’

A Clive man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a Waukee man at an Urbandale work site.

Jose Antonio Flores Bautista, 23, of 8424 Franklin Dr., Clive, was charged with assault while displaying a dangerous weapon.

The incident occurred about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at a construction site in the 5200 block of 172nd Street in Urbandale, where Flores Bautista and the victim got into “an argument about manners,” according to court records.

The disputants engaged in mutual shoving, according to a witness’ account, and then Flores Bautista allegedly proceeded to “pick up a nail gun and use it to hit” the victim “in the head,” according to court records.

The victim was transported from the scene by Urbandale EMS, according to court records.

Flores Bautista is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 29 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
