The Perry Ministerial Association has scheduled a community vigil for 5:30 p.m. Thursday in Wiese Park in the shelter near the playground in order to help the people of Perry in the aftermath of Thursday morning’s shooting at Perry High School.
Jackson VanKirk of the Progressive Foundry will also open the factory at 1518 First Ave. at 4 p.m. for the football team and the community to gather. Food will be served and pastoral care will be available.
In addition, the McCreary Community Building (MCB) at 1800 Pattee St. has been established as a site for mental health counseling. The facility has closed for regular operations Thursday, the MCB has announced, and all classes, programs and practices are cancelled for Thursday night. Adult members can still access the 24 hour fitness area.
