A crack-sealing crew from Parking Lot Specialties LLC is making progress on some 50 blocks of Perry’s streets this week.
The Carlisle-based company won the contract for the job with a bid of $24,700, which was nearly 50% below the engineer’s estimate of $47,300 for the work.
The Perry City Council awarded the contract July 19.
Work began Monday and will conclude Aug. 13, if the weather holds.
The city has asked residents to use off-street parking for all vehicles or to park on adjacent roadways during the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. while the work is underway.
