Last seen in summer 2021, a crack-sealing crew will return starting Sept.. 19 to seal cracks in more Perry streets.

Perry’s city streets will be improved beginning Monday, Sept. 19, when Carlisle-based Parking Lot Specialties conducts a crack-sealing project, the Perry City Hall announced Thursday.

The bulk of the crack sealing will occur on Eighth Street, 10th Street and Iowa Street. See the map above to see where the crack sealing will occur.

The city asks all residents to park their vehicles off the streets or on adjacent roadways between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. while the work is being completed.

Traffic control devices and flaggers will be in place to warn residents of lane closures as the contractor moves from street to street. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise caution near the work area while the construction is ongoing.

Work will progress through the week, with the goal of completing all areas by Friday, Sept. 23.

If the project is interrupted by weather or other impacts, the city will issue an updated schedule for completing the repairs.

The Perry City Council awarded the $47,500 contract to Parking Lot Specialties at its Aug. 1 meeting.
