A Dallas Center man was arrested Sunday after allegedly assaulting a Dallas Center woman.

Dennis Leland Felt, 79, of 20175 W Ave., Dallas Center, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 2:45 p.m. Sunday in the 20100 block of W Avenue, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

According to court records, Felt allegedly “did admit to pushing and smacking” the female victim “on the back.”

Deputies observed on the victim “a red mark consistent with a hand print on her upper-middle back,” according to court records.

The victim told the deputies that “she is scared of” Felt and that “this is not the first time he has been physical towards her,” according to court records.

After he was placed under arrest, Felt allegedly told the deputies “on multiple occasions that he would kill the victim,” according to court records.

Felt is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash-only bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 6 in Dallas County District Court.
