Dallas Center man arrested after allegedly pushing woman down stairs

Jacob Alexander Willis, 42, of Dallas Center was arrested Sunday on a charge of second-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

A Dallas Center man was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly pushing a woman down a flight of stairs in the home.

Jacob Alexander Willis, 42, of 406 10th St., Dallas Center, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 3:30 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the 400 block of 10th Street in Dallas Center, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The deputy made contact with the victim, who told the deputy that “she was shoved into a wall by Jacob and pushed down the stairs,” according to court records.

The victim complained of “pain in her legs and back after being pushed down the stairs,” according to court records.

Willis is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Oct. 23 in Dallas County District Court.

Willis was convicted of domestic abuse assault in 2021 in Callaway County, Missouri.
