With the November general election drawing on, the Dallas County Democrat and Republican parties are increasingly active in their organizing and fundraising missions.
The county GOP will hold its second annual Party like a Patriot fundraiser Thursday, Sept. 3 in Des Moines. News reporters are excluded from the private fundraiser, which will host many of Iowa’s federal, state and local Republican officeholders and feature a keynote address from a notable entrepreneur and reformed narcotics addict.

The Dallas County Democrats will gather at Perry High School Sunday, Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with candidate yard and barn signs available for distribution. Voters seeking assistance in filling out voter registration and absentee ballot request forms will find help in Spanish and English.
