- Julie Doyle of Waukee was traveling on U.S. Interstate 80 at the 112 mile marker when she pulled off the travel portion and into the median and stopped to check on a vehicle that had wrecked. When she pulled over, her vehicle was struck by a vehicle, driven by Kole Hartz of Winterset. A semi-tractor trailer, driven by Joshua Pooler of Kansas, then struck Hartz’s vehicle, causing it to strike Doyle’s vehicle again. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicles was estimated as follows: Doyle – $12,000, Hartz – $20,000, Pooler – $3,000.
April 12, 2022
- Joseph Hulscher of Van Meter was turning from R Avenue onto 360th Street when his vehicle collided with a vehicle, driven by Zechariah Aeschliman of West Des Moines, that was traveling westbound on 360th Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to Hulscher’s vehicle was estimated at $20,000, and damage to Aeschliman’s vehicle was estimated at $15,000. Hulscher was issued a citation for failure to yield upon entering through highway.
- Caleb Colby-Sehman, 23, of 2527 240th St., Dallas Center, was arrested for driving while barred.
- Benito Ramirez, 41, of 1507 Eighth St., Perry, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.

Julie Doyle did not pull into the median when she was struck. She was stopped in the left lane of the interstate. I think I would know because I was there. Get your facts straight.
