August 23, 2019

  • Allie Farrell of Urbandale was traveling south in the 16000 block of Iowa Highway 141 Diagonal and turning left into a median divider when she was struck by a vehicle driven by Benjamin Kuennen of West Union. No injuries were reported. Damage to Kuennen’s vehicle was estimated at $8,000, and damage to Farrell’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000. Kuennen was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured distance.
  • Wade Griffin of Woodward was traveling in the 16000 block of Iowa Highway 141 Diagonal when he lost something off of a trailer he was pulling and several vehicles struck the items. No injuries were reported. Damages to the vehicles ranged from an estimated $200 to and estimated $2,000.

August 25, 2019

  • Amber Lynn Hager, 28, of 430 Hartford Ave., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for OWI.
  • Marina Quijas, 19, of 608 Willis Ave., Perry, was arrested on a warrant for assault.
  • Austin Sacker of Van Meter was traveling in the 29000 block of Prospect Circle when he approached a curve and lost control of the vehicle, which rolled on its side down a steep drop off and struck a tree. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
  • Samantha Kay Blocker, 24, of 555 S.E. Whitetail Lane, Waukee, was arrested near S. 81st Street and Wishful Vista Drive for OWI.
  • Summer Dawn Meier, 39, of 36314 Tabor Road, Van Meter, was arrested at this address for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Jareth William Klahes, 24, of 9116 Valdez Dr., Urbandale, was arrested at 36314 Tabor Rd. in Van Meter for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

August 26, 2019

  • Trey Alexander Lewis, 25, of 2906 Holcomb Ave., Des Moines, was arrested at the 118 mile marker of U.S. Interstate 80 for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while barred, failure to maintain or use safety belts, driving under suspension, no insurance and operation without registration card or plate.
