August 23, 2024

  • A minor driver was traveling southbound on M Avenue near 150th Street when the driver’s vehicle collided with a vehicle, driven by Alexander Arbuckle of Perry. Arbuckle was transported by the Dallas County EMS. Damage to Arbuckle’s vehicle was estimated at $8,000, and damage to the minor’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000. The minor driver was issued a citation for failure to yield upon entering a through highway, and Arbuckle was issued a citation for no insurance.
  • Alicia Ofelt, 37, of Van Meter was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of OWI.

August 24, 2024

  • Sean Gelles, 25, of 2006 Fifth St., Perry, was arrested for driving while suspended and issued a citation for no registration and no insurance.
  • Hollie James, 48, of 2423 Birch St., Granger, was arrested for public intoxication, assault causing bodily injury and disorderly conduct.
  • Brian Diaz, 22, of 2009 Sherwood Court, Council Bluffs, was arrested for open container, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, improper use of lanes, speeding, OWI and possession of a controlled substance.

August 25, 2024

  • Mandy Johnson, 42, of 2418 Birch St., Granger, was cited and released for disorderly conduct.
  • Guadalupe Garcia of Iowa City was stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Ash and Guthrie streets in De Soto when her vehicle was struck from behind by a Nissan pickup truck, driven by an unknown driver who fled the scene of the accident. No injuries were reported. Damage to Garcia’s vehicle was estimated at $3,500. Garcia was issued a citation for no valid driver’s license.

August 26, 2024

  • Alexandra Storm, 19, of 14115 Buchanan St., Carlisle, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
  • Susan Baudler of Fontanelle was traveling southbound in the 33000 block of N Avenue when a vehicle, driven by Richard Alberigo of Earlham, struck Baudler’s vehicle, causing both vehicles to enter the ditch. Minor injuries were reported, but medical treatment was declined. Damage to Baudler’s vehicle was estimated at $20,000, and damage to Alberigo’s vehicle was estimated at $20,000. Alberigo was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
