Dec. 19, 2022
- David Weiser of Minburn was traveling on N Avenue near 205th Street when a vehicle, driven by Rose Andrews of Minburn, entered the intersection and collided with Weiser’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to Weiser’s vehicle was estimated at $1,000, and damage to Andrews’ vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
- A vehicle owned by Maria Lopez Vargas of North St. Paul, Minnesota, was wrecked in the median near the Woodward exit on Iowa Highway 141. The accident was reported by Iowa DOT workers. Lopez Vargas informed law enforcement by phone that she gave the vehicle to a friend to drive while in Iowa. No further information is available. Damage to the median and bridge bumpers was estimated at $5,000. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000. Injuries are unknown.
Dec. 21, 2022
- A minor driver was traveling on the Minburn Road near Lexington Road when the driver lost control on the snow and ice, and the vehicle entered the ditch and struck a tree. No injuries reported. Damage was estimated at $10,000.
- Alexander Johnson of Dallas Center was traveling eastbound in the 32000 block of Iowa Highway 44 when he lost control on the snow, and the vehicle slide struck a vehicle, driven by Michael Robertson of Grimes. No injuries were reported. Damage to Johnson’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000, and damage to Robertson’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000. Johnson was issued citations for no valid driver’s license and failure to provide proof of insurance.

- Brady Caldwell, 18, of 712 State St., Dexter, was arrested for two counts of controlled substance violation, possession of a controlled substance, failure to affix drug stamp, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while barred. He was also issued citations for failure to provide proof of financial liability, person under 21 using tobacco product, dark window of windshield and driving while sus[pended.

- Thomas Lilley, 50, of 905 Bryan St., Adel, was arrested on a warrant for obstructing prosecution or defense and possession of a controlled substance.
- Jowlene Mason, 31, of 4076 Indianola Ave., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of third-degree theft.
- Travis Turner, 27, of 2120 Grand Ave., West Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
- Esteban Maradiaga, 27, of Fort Dodge was arrested on a warrant for sex offender registration violation.
- Jeffrey Mahowald of Lakeville, Minnesota, was traveling on U.S. Interstate 80 near the 105 mile marker when he lost control, and the vehicle struck the cable barriers. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $8,000. Mahowald was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.
- Michael Weber of Adel was traveling in the 16000 block of Old Hwy 6 when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $3,000.

- Megan Runde, 43, of 3207 Crocker St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended.
- Sean Teske, 51, of 17 River Vista Dr., Adel, was arrested for driving while license denied or revoked.
Dec. 25, 2022
- Christopher Keeran of Redfield was traveling near 31478 Puckerbrush Road when he lost control, and his vehicle entered the ditch and struck two utility poles and a fence. Keeran left the scene before law enforcement arrived and declined any medical treatment. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $20,000, and damage to property was estimated at $500. Keeran was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.
Dec. 26, 2022
- Matthew Halling of Perry was traveling near First and Otley avenues when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle, driven by Edgart Tojin of Perry. No injuries were reported. Damage to Halling’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000, and damage to Tojin’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000. Damage to a stop sign was estimated at $300.
- Austin Swigart, 33, of 1919 Warford St., Perry, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and issued a citation for operating a non-registered vehicle.
- Sean Dorrian, 61, of 395 Fourth St., Waukee, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.
