Feb. 14, 2023

  • Nina Guerra of Highland Haven, Texas, was stopped at the intersection of W Avenue and 240th Street when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle, driven by Rory Hennessy of Stuart. The collision also caused a stop sign to be knocked down at the intersection. No injuries were reported. Damage to Guerra’s vehicle was estimated at $15,000., and damage to Hennessy’s vehicle was estimated at $29,000. Guerra was issued a citation for failure to obey a stop sign and yield right of way.

Feb. 16, 2023

  • Dylan Ruvalcaba, 31, of 920 Fourth St., Perry, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of a controlled sSubstance.
  • Bryant McCloud of Adel was traveling on Guthrie Street in De Soto when an Iowa DOT snowplow, driven by Brett Gilliland of Urbandale, was unable to stop at the end of the off ramp from U.S. Interstate 80 and struck McCloud’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to McCloud’s vehicle was estimated at $1,500, and damage to the snowplow was estimated at $0.
  • Jeremy Binger of Mandan, N.D., was traveling south on 13th Street in Dallas Center when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a vehicle driven by Christopher Knoll of Dallas Center. No injuries were reported. Damage to Knoll’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000, and damage to Binger’s vehicle was estimated at $12,000.
  • Teddy Barr of Perry was turning a corner at 31st Street and Willis Street when his vehicle struck a city of Perry snowplow, driven by Jeremy Fuller of Minburn. No injuries were reported. Damage to Barr’s vehicle was estimated at $1,500, and damage to the snowplow was estimated at $100.
  • Jamar Sims of Ames was traveling in the 28000 block of 360th Street when he lost control and his vehicle struck a vehicle, driven by Terry Forrett of De Soto. Sims was transported to Mercy One Medical Center by Dallas County EMS. Damage to Sims vehicle was estimated at $35,000, and damage to Forrett’s vehicle was estimated at $22,000. The incident is under investigation.
