Feb. 19, 2024
- Dorothy Harkrader of Adel was stopped at the intersection of R Avenue and U.S. Highway 6 when her vehicle was struck from the rear by a vehicle, driven by Melinda Enderton of Van Meter. No injuries were reported. Damage to Harkrader’s car was estimated at $3,000, and damage to Enderton’s car was estimated at $3,000. Ederton was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
Feb. 20, 2024
- Kaitlyn Hess of Stuart was traveling in the 35000 block of Old Highway 6 when her vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
- Darold Baker, 28, of 221 Dallas St., De Soto, was arrested for two counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Samuel Zarate, 26, of 5703 Vista Dr., West Des Moines, was arrested for OWI and possession or carrying of dangerous weapon while intoxicated.
Feb. 21, 2024
- Maxime Saintil of Orlando, Florida, was traveling near the 136 mile marker of Iowa Highway 141 when he fell asleep, and his vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and then struck a fence. Saintil was transported by Dallas County EMS.
