July 7, 2023
- Danielle Dawson of Grimes was traveling westbound on Iowa Highway 141 Diagonal when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle, driven by Jeffery Menedez of Denison. No injuries were reported. Damage to Dawson’s vehicle was estimated at $1,000, and damage to Menedez’s vehicle was estimated at $1,500.
July 8, 2023
- Kenneth Lee Walker, 57, of 4940 N.E. 14th St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
- Hunter Ray Oleson, 20, of 4402 160th Circle, Urbandale, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of theft.
- Jay Miller of Bouton was traveling east on Iowa Highway 141 when his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle, driven by Yordi Mena of Perry. Miller was transported to the Dallas County Hospital with minor injuries. Damage to Miller’s vehicle was estimated at $3000, and damage to Mena’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000. Mena was cited for failure to stop in a safe assured distance.
- A minor driver of Perry was traveling in the 17000 block of K Trail when the power steering ceased to operate, and his vehicle entered the north ditch, overturned and and came to rest at the bottom of the ditch. All occupants of the vehicle had minor scrapes and cuts but declined medical assistance. The driver was issued a citations for failure to maintain control and violation of an instructional permit. Damage to the vehicle estimated at $5000.
- Timothy Michael Lewellin, 38, of 1107 Sugar Grove St., Dallas Center, was arrested in the 800 block of Linden Street in Dallas Center for possession of a controlled substance.
- Nicholas Alexander Towne, 21, of 11705 N.W. 121st St., Granger, was arrested in the 32000 block of 360th Street for OWI.
- Harrison Conrad Sanchez, 24, of 4282 E. 50th St., Des Moines, was arrested at 18930 H Ave., Perry, for OWI and operating a vehicle without registration card.
July 9, 2023
- Ralph Putnam of East Lansing, Michigan, was traveling near the 109 mile marker of U.S. Interstate 80 when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $7500.
- Staycee Deeneen Richmond, 60, of 2121 Greene St., Adel, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while license suspended.
