May 29, 2017

  • Brian Alan Greif, 47, of 500 Adair St., DeSoto, was arrested for eluding-speed 25 over limit and carrying weapons, and he was issued a citation for speeding in a 55 or under zone (21 or over).

May 30, 2016

  • Jason Lee Sitzman, 41, of 1617 Army Post Road, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent. Sitzman was also arrested for escape from custody and attempting second-degree burglary.
  • Heather Honkomp of Winterset was stopped on U.S. Highway 169 just north of U.S. Interstate 80 and was waiting to turn left into the park and ride lot when her vehicle was struck from behind and pushed into the ditch by a vehicle driven by David Eckstein of DeSoto. Estimated damage to Honkomp’s vehicle was $2,000, and estimated damage to Eckstein’s vehicle was $2,000. No injuries were reported. Eckstein was issued a citation for failure to stop in an assured distance.
  • Bryan Randall Galivan of 17282 J Ave. in Perry reported the theft of four motors from his shed.
  • Jane and Kimberly Johnson of 320 Walnut St. in DeSoto reported a bullet hole found in their camper and the theft of two LP gas tanks. The incident occurred at 23541 Pasco Lane, where the camper was stored.
  • Pamela Sue Riley, 54, of 418 Prairie St., Adel, was arrested at the intersection of Prairie and Seventh streets for driving while under suspension.

May 31, 2017

  • Andrew Henry McGowan, 29, of 2198 N.W. 141st St., Clive, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation on an original charge of possession of a controlled substance.
  • Elaine Kay Lathrum of Perry was traveling west on Iowa Highway 141 at the Woodward interchange when a deer entered the roadway and struck Lathrum’s vehicle. The vehicle’s air bag deployed. Dallas County EMS was called to the scene for a minor arm injury, but the driver refused to be transported. Estimated damage to the vehicle was $3,000.
  • The Perry Water Works at 1101 W. Third St. in Perry reported someone removed and stole two entry gates to the Perry Water Works well sites located in the 13500 block of N Avenue. The estimated loss was $200.
  • Billy Wayne Matthews, 46, of 907 40th Place, Des Moines, was cited and released for driving under suspension, issued a citation for excessive speed and given a warning for no insurance card. A valid driver came and picked up Matthews and the vehicle.
