May 17, 2024

  • Ryan Gillen, 28, of 1135 Orchard St., Ottumwa, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on original charges of controlled substance violation, failure to affix drug stamp and eluding.
  • Antonee Butts, 61, of 1502 E. 16th St., Des Moines, was arrested for driving while suspended.
  • Amy Garrison of Waukee was traveling on R Avenue near Acorn Ridge Lane when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle, driven by Rose Delateur of Dallas Center. No injuries were reported. Damage to Garrison’s vehicle was estimated at $1,000, and damage to Delateur’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000. Delateur was issued a citation for failure to stop in assured clear distance.
  • Eliza Dobbins of Earlham was traveling in the 28000 block of 360th Street when her vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $2,000.
  • Karl Lundy of Des Moines was traveling in the 25000 block of Iowa Highway 141 when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $5,000.

May 18, 2024

  • Michael Schaefer, 32, of 514 Cottage St., Adel, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while barred.
  • Jacob Jones of Redfield was traveling in the 13000 block of 310th Street when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $4,000.
  • Gerald Stadtlander of Clive was traveling in the 19000 block of W Avenue when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $1,500.

May 19, 2024

  • Shemar Mure, 20, of 2812 E. Diehl Ave., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
  • Darrin Spellman, 30, of 1002 Eighth St., Dallas Center, was arrested on a warrant for first-degree theft.
  • Jugraj Singh of Sacramento, California, was driving westbound on U.S. Interstate 80 near the 114 mile marker when his vehicle entered the ditch and overturned. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $1,500.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
