Oct. 26, 2024

  • Jeffrey O’Neill of Des Moines was traveling in the construction zone on Iowa Highway 17 in Granger when another vehicle was proceeding through the one-way construction zone in the opposite direction. O’Neill to take evasive action and entered the roundabout area, which was still under construction. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $5,000.

Nov. 1, 2024

  • Kelsey Seronko, 35, of 1807 Fifth St., Perry, was arrested on two warrants for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended.
  • Emerson Griffin, 20, of 115 N. Howard St., Indianola, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
  • Antwoine Taylor, 40, of 2221 37th St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended.
  • Timothy Miller, of 33, of unknown address was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of probation violation.
  • Benjamin Willrich of Dallas Center was traveling on 240th Street near U Avenue when his vehicle was struck by a vehicle, driven by a juvenile. No injuries were reported. Damage to Willrich’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000, and damage to the juvenile’s vehicle was estimated at $5,000. The juvenile was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.

Nov. 2, 2024

  • Jose Ayala Sanchez, 30, of 1120 11th St., Perry, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order and OWI and issued a citation for cited for open container, no license and no insurance.
  • Alec Schoening of La Vista, Nebraska, was traveling on U.S. Interstate 80 near the 100 mile marker when his vehicle struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $10.000.

Nov. 3, 2024

  • Courtney Norton, 33, of 309 N.W. 18th St., Ankeny, was traveling on Main Street in Van Meter near Hazel Street when her vehicle entered the ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $10,000. Norton was arrested for OWI.
  • Vincente Garcia, 25, of 300 First Ave., Bagley, was traveling in the 16500 block of F Avenue when his vehicle entered the ditch and struck a transport hose. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $4,000, and damage to the transport hose was estimated at $9,000. Garcia was arrested for operating without owner’s consent and issued citations for driving in improper lane, failure to maintain control and no license.
  • Zachary Ernst, 26, of 120 Elm St., Van Meter, was arrested for OWI.

Nov. 4, 2024

  • Amber Risius of Hubbard was traveling on U.S. Interstate 80 near the 109 mile marker when her vehicle struck a semi-tractor trailer, driven by Nasimjoni Mahmadsaid of Stafford, Texas. No injuries were reported. Damage to Risius’ vehicle was estimated $10000m and damage to the semi-tractor trailer was estimated at $500. Risius was issued a citation for failure to maintain control.
