Sept. 29, 2023
- Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch. They located the unoccupied vehicle and had it towed. Brian Brady of Grimes later called the Dallas County Sheriff’s office and said he was traveling on H Avenue near 358th Court when the front wheel fell off the vehicle, causing him to loose control of the vehicle, which entered the ditch. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at $2,500.
- John Houseman of Des Moines was traveling on N Avenue and turning onto 360th Street when his vehicle struck a stop sign, causing damage to the sign and the vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to the sign was estimated at $1,000, and damage to Houseman’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
- Keith Dirksen of Klemme was traveling in a semi-tractor trailer on N Avenue when his load struck the U.S. Interstate 80 bridge and he passed under the interstate. No injuries were reported. Damage to the bridge was estimated at $1,000, and damage to the vehicle’s cargo was estimated at $2,000. The Iowa Department of Transportation was notified.
- Justin Formaro, 33, of 5205 S.W. Ninth St., Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended.
Sept. 30, 2023
- Adam Kent, 48, of 4507 Sommars Point, Panora, was arrested for OWI and issued citations for failure to maintain control and open container after a traffic accident. No injuries were reported. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
Oct. 1, 2023
- Trever Antrim, 40, of 4367 Panorama Dr., Panora, was arrested for operating vehicle without owner’s consent.
Oct. 2, 2023
- Jose Santos Garcia, 32, of 133 W. Ayers St., Osceola, was arrested for driving while barred.
