September 28, 2023
- Daniel Hall of Valparaiso, Indiana, was stopped at the intersection of U Avenue and 240th Street when his vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle, driven by Fernando Ramirez of Ankeny. No injuries were reported. Damage to Hall’s vehicle was estimated at $500, and damage to Ramirez’s vehicle was estimated at $1,000. Ramirez was issued a citation for following too close.
- While a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff was clearing the previous accident noted in this report, a second crash occurred at the same location when a vehicle, driven by Tyler Hinrichs of Grimes, was struck from behind by a vehicle, driven by Christopher Paglia of Grimes. No injuries were reported. Damage to Hinrichs’ vehicle was estimated at $500, and Paglia reported no damage to his vehicle. Paglia was issued citations for failure to provide proof of financial liability and failure to stop in assured clear distance.
- Lance Shultz, 39, of 1617 Second St., Perry, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of public intoxication.
- Kristopher Swihart, 44, of 1011 N.W. 37th St., Ankeny, was arrested for OWI.
- Keith E. Murphy, 55, of 905 Lyndale Dr., Polk City, was arrested in Redfield for possession of a controlled substance.
September 29, 2023
- Kenneth Needham of Omaha was traveling on Upland Avenue and turning onto 140th Street when he lost control of his vehicle, which entered the ditch and overturned. No injuries were reported. Damage to Needham’s vehicle was estimated at $10,000.
