About 250 people attended the dedication of the Dallas County Veterans Wall in Minburn Saturday morning, standing for about one hour in the teeth of a chilly south wind.
The wall is composed of 324 bricks, each bearing the name of a Dallas County veteran of the U.S. military. A place of honor is reserved for the brick of Lester Osborne, who was the first resident of Dallas County to be killed in action in World War I and after whom the Minburn American Legion Osborne Post 99 was dedicated.
Following the dedication ceremonies, the patriotic crowd enjoyed a free soup luncheon in the gymnasium of the Minburn school.
