A Dawson man was arrested Sunday evening after he allegedly struck a Dawson woman in the face during a domestic dispute.
Edgar Henry Benedict, 57, of 302 E. Fourth St., Dawson, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
about 6 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of E. Fourth Street in Dawson, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriff’s responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The victim told the deputies that “she had been struck in the face on her right cheek,” according to court records. The victim said that “it caused her pain.”
Benedict was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 8 in Dallas County District Court.
