A De Soto woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly assaulted her daughter.

Melody Marie Forrett, 43, of De Soto was charged with assault-fear of immediate contact.

The incident began about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 1200 block of Marshall Street in De Soto, where a Dallas County Deputy Sheriff responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The deputy made contact with the victim, who told the deputy that “when she went to open the front door,” Forrett allegedly “swung at her,” putting the victim “in fear that she was going to be hit,” according to court records.

Forrett was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $300 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
