A Denison woman was arrested in Perry early Saturday but not without s struggle.

Acher Deng Machar, 25, of 910 Second Ave. N., Denison, was charged with providing false identification information and interference with official acts.

The incident began about 1 a.m. Saturday at the Super 8 motel in Perry, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a female “refusing to leave the residence,” according to court records.

The officers made contact with Machar, who allegedly identified herself as “Deng Tuesday” and provided a false date of birth. A witness assisted the officers in accurately identifying Machar, according to court records.

Machar was determined to have active arrest warrants from Minnesota for failure to appear for a pretrial hearing on original charges of two counts of forgery.

While being transported to the Perry Police Department, Machar allegedly “became non-compliant with officers and started grabbing the wall and resisting officers” and “did kick one of the officers in the shin while being escorted into the booking room,” according to court records.

Machar was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to her release on a $600 cash or surety bond.
