A Des Moines man was arrested Friday after allegedly assaulting two staff members of the Waukee group home in which he was residing by order of the court.
Daniel Ray Coonfield, 39, of 4685 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, was charged with two counts of assault.
The incident occurred Friday during a telephone conversation between Coonfield and a probation officer with the Iowa Department of Corrections and staff members of the Waukee group home.
During the conversation, Coonfield said he was “not going to participate in the program and wanted to go back to jail,” and he then allegedly “proceeded to assault two staff members,” according to court records.
Coonfield is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $300 cash or surety bond.
Coonfield was convicted of assault in 2021 in Polk County District Court.
