A Des Moines man was arrested Monday night after allegedly assaulting a West Des Moines woman in the course of a domestic dispute.
Shane Steven Myers, 32, of 6000 Creston Ave., Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault.
The incident began about 10:45 p.m. Sunday in the 9000 block of Greenspire Drive in West Des Moines, where Myers allegedly “struck the female in the back of the head and face,” according to court records.
The victim told officers of the West Des Moines Police Department that Myers allegedly “pinned her against a kitchen wall and choked her,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “minor injuries to her chest and arms and face,” according to court records.
Myers was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $300 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference Jan. 10 in Dallas County District Court.
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
