Dr. Victoria Hegstrom, formerly of Perry and now a practicing veterinarian in Ackley, Iowa, was recently awarded a $1,000 Iowa Veterinary Medical Association Foundation Sustaining Involvement Scholarship for 2023.
Dr. Hegstrom was one of nine vets across Iowa to receive the scholarship, as she has demonstrated community involvement, been active in organized veterinary medicine leadership and intended to practice in Iowa.
The daughter of Myles and Joyce Hegstrom of Perry, Dr. Hegstrom earned her undergraduate degree in animal science from Iowa State University and recently graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Hegstrom has begun her veterinary career working as a mixed animal veterinarian at the Ackley Veterinary Center in Ackley.
The Iowa Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA) is a 501c3 nonprofit, member-service organization dedicated to the veterinary profession. The IVMA supports member veterinarians and promotes the profession through continuing education, publications, and advocacy.
