Perry Middle School students, from left, Tyler Devilbiss, 12, Abraham Ruiz, 12, Ardadi Adum, 13, and Noah Mcalister, 12, are among the hundreds of children who will soon end their school year and begin their summer vacation. Perry-area motorists are urged to use extra caution during the summer months.

As the summer approaches and area schools prepare to close, motorists are urged to use extra caution in order to reduce the number of injuries on Perry-area streets.

The issue of bicycle and skateboard safety is often raised by members of the Perry City Council, who urge cyclists to always use a headlamp and wear reflective clothing when riding at night.

Skateboarders are also encouraged to make themselves visible to motorists and to keep to established skate paths.
