A drunken Colorado man beat his head against the bars Thursday night in De Soto after his arrest on multiple charges.
Jesse Lee Wienke, 46, of 106 Broadway, Penrose, Colorado, was charged with public intoxication, third-degree harassment and interference with official acts-bodily injury.
The incident began about 9 p.m. in the 1200 block of Guthrie Street in De Soto, where an officer of the De Soto Police Department responded to assist an Iowa State Patrol Trooper with “a female who was not being cooperative” at a convenience store.
The officer was told by an employee of the storeĀ “that there was a male drinking behind the store near the dumpsters who had sexually harassed a female juvenile employee,” according to court records.
The officer made contact by the dumpsters with Wienke, who presented with “heavily slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and had a strong smell of alcoholic beverages on his person,” according to court records.
Wienke allegedly became “extremely belligerent” during his interaction with the officer and would not provide with his name or date of birth. He allegedly began to “physically resist” being detained and handcuffed by the officer, according to court records.
Wienke allegedly called the officer “the ‘N’ word on numerous occasions” during the course of his arrest.
Once inside the officer’s patrol vehicle, Wienke began to “bang his head on the window bars” in the back of the vehicle, “causing a small 1-inch laceration to his forehead just over his right eyebrow,” according to court records.
Wienke was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,600 cash or surety bond prior to his initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
