State titles in seven classes of high school football will be earned Wednesday and Thursday.

Class 3A District 8
MADRID 47, PERRY 0
Host Madrid received five rushing touchdowns from quarterback Brady Leonard to turn a 14-0 game at the half into a 47-0 rout. Perry remains the only team in the state to have not scored a single point and will face host ADM in their regular season final Friday with Madrid finishing at Ogden. Madrid (2-2) had missed the prior two weeks because of COVID issues. The teams were playing as Des Moines Hoover cancelled their season, with Woodward Academy opting not to play, leaving a pair of open dates.

DC-G 16, ADM
Top-ranked DC-G broke ADM hearts with a last-second field goal to avoid the upset. The win lifted the host Mustangs to 6-0 and dropped the Tigers to 2-4.

WINTERSET 55, NORWALK 35
Winterset moves to 5-1 with the win, their lone setback a 33-14 loss to Class 1A No. 2 Van Meter in the first game of the season. Norwalk drops to 1-5.

The Panthers (4-2) won their Homecoming and posted their third consecutive shutout by easily handling a Charger (2-4) team that, due to illness and injury, suited just 22 players. Panorama will cap their regular season with a visit from Kuemper Catholic (1-5) Friday.

WOODWARD-GRANGER 53, WEST CENTRAL VALLEY 7
W-G (5-1) was in control throughout, with runs from Kade Polich and Trevor Simmons putting the Hawks in front, 14-0, after one frame. WCV (1-5) scored a long TD early in the third, put W-G responded with a trio of scores to open a 53-7 lead before the stanza ended, with neither team scoring in the fourth. W-G hosts second-ranked Van Meter (6-0) in their regular season finale Friday.

VAN METER 35, KUEMPER CATHOLIC 18
The Knights (1-5) scored 11 points against the Van Meter (6-0) reserves late in the game to make the score appear closer than the game actually was. Van Meter will look for yet another perfect regular season when they visit a solid W-G (5-1) squad Friday.
