The annual Las Posadas celebration begins Friday, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. with an ecumenical service at the First Christian Church at 1224 Lucinda St. The procession starts at 6:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church, followed by a 7 p.m. meal at the First United Methodist Church at 1100 Third St.
The Las Posadas celebration is a unique Christmas tradition originating in what is modern-day Mexico. It is also celebrated in other Latin American countries and by people of Latin American heritage in the U.S.
