Two GoFundMe pages have been established to help the family of 11-year-old Ahmir Jolliff, who was killed Jan. 4 in the gun rampage at Perry High School.

One GoFundMe page was organized by Rob Vargas of McAllen, Texas, a friend of the murdered boy’s father, who wrote, “I’m heartbroken to be typing this for a very close friend who just lost his son to a school shooting incident in Iowa. His son, Ahmir Jolliff, was only in sixth grade 11 years old.

“He was known as ‘Smiley’ for being such a sweet, loving and just smart kid. His charisma will forever be remembered by peers and family. I’m asking dearly for any help possible for him and his family. Anything is greatly appreciated. Please keep the Jolliff family in your prayers.”

A second GoFundMe page was organized by Erin Owen of Perry, who wrote, “We kindly ask you to contribute to this GoFundMe campaign to help his mother and family as they navigate their lives going forward. Erica Jolliff is the beneficiary of this campaign, and she is Ahmir’s mother. She lives in Perry, Iowa.”

As of Monday, Jan. 15, each of the fundraising pages had raised about $2,000.
