Colton James Martin, 25, of Granger was arrested Monday on charges of second-offense domestic abuse assault and fifth-degree criminal mischief.

A Granger man was arrested Monday night after he allegedly pushed a woman through a window in a Dallas Center home.

Colton James Martin, 25, of of 2205 Court St., Granger, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault and fifth-degree criminal mischief.

The incident began about 9:30 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Percival Avenue in Dallas Center, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a man attempting to intrude into a home.

According to court records, Martin allegedly “did shove the listed victim through a glass
window,” which “caused the window to shatter into multiple pieces” and left the victim with “scratch marks and redness to her chest, lower back and upper thigh.”

Martin is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond, He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 15 in Dallas County District Court.

Martin was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and child endangerment-bodily injury in 2021 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of interference with official acts in 2021 in Boone County District Court. He was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness in 2017 in Polk County District Court. According to court records, a computerized criminal history record from Florida showed Martin received a felony arrest for domestic by strangulation on Nov. 19, 2017, and an “unknown conviction at date of arrest.”

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
