A Granger woman was arrested Thursday night after allegedly scratching a Granger man’s face in the course of a domestic dispute.

Carrie Frances James, 38, of 2205 Court St., Granger, was charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 9:45 p.m. Thursday in the 2200 block of Court Street, where officers of the Granger Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that James “began scratching” the victim “about the face” in the course of a domestic dispute, according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “bloody scratches on his face,” according to court records.

James is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 30 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
