August 26, 2019

  • A deputy assisted with a German shepherd found on 190th Street near G Avenue.
  • The Greene County Sheriff, a deputy, the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department and the Greene County EMS assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a two-vehicle head-on collision on 220th Street near Grimmell Road.
  • A deputy conducted a welfare check in the 500 block of Madison Street in Scranton.
  • A deputy investigated an abandoned vehicle on I Avenue near 130th Street.
  • A deputy investigated a harassment complaint in the 100 block of W. Percival Street in Rippey.
  • A deputy investigated a 911 hang up in the 500 block of N Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a driving complaint on Seventh Street in Grand Junction.
  • A deputy investigated a suspicious person on 220th Street near M Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated an abandoned vehicle on E Avenue south of 220th Street.
  • A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with an arrest at Elm and 220th streets. Logan Staley, 28, of Webster City was arrested on a warrant for second-degree theft and third-degree burglary. Staley was booked into the Greene County Jail.

August 27, 2019

  • A deputy investigated a single-vehicle accident on 220th Street and R Avenue. Josefina Stevens, 72, of Jefferson struck a cow in the roadway with her 2010 Toyota Prius, totaling the vehicle. The cow was also a loss. The cow was owned by Jonathan Merrill, 36, of Jefferson. Stevens was not injured in the accident.
  • The Greene County Sheriff investigated a trespass complaint in the 700 block of B Avenue.
  • A deputy investigated a driving complaint on I Avenue near 110th Street.
  • A deputy investigated a phone scam in the 500 block of Fifth Street in Rippey.
  • Alyssa Slusser, 25, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for assault simple.
  • A deputy investigated a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of 210th Street.
  • A deputy investigated a suspicious person on D Avenue near 177th Street.
  • Trevor Vanscoy, 28, of Jefferson was booked into the jail for assault simple.
  • A deputy investigated a driving complaint in Scranton.
  • A deputy investigated a suspicious person on Neola Avenue near 330th Street.
  • A deputy investigated a driving complaint in Scranton.
