A Grimes woman was arrested for assault Monday after she allegedly shoved and spit on a West Des Moines woman Friday evening.
Alynn Michelle McKinnon, 29, of 1720 Gateway Court, Grimes, was charged with assault on persons in certain occupations.
The incident occurred about 5:15 p.m. Friday in the 1600 block of 60th Street in West Des Moines, where McKinnon allegedly “became upset with the victim in the restroom with her and ‘shoved’ her out of the way to exit” and “also spit on the victim while she was in the doorway of the restroom” in a way that “made contact with” the victim’s clothing, according to court records.
The victim reported the alleged assault to officers of the West Des Moines Police Department on Saturday, and McKinnon was arrested Monday morning.
McKinnon was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
