Guthrie County Sheriff, Courthouse close to pubic access

The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office and Guthrie County Courthouse have temporarily closed to public access, the county announced Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office will still provide round-the-clock coverage for county residents, and calls for service will be handled as usual, according to Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright.

The GCSO with not be issuing or renewing permits to carry a concealed firearm or issuing permit to purchase firearms until further notice, and the sheriff’s office will not have any visitation on Thursdays until further notice.

The Guthrie County Sheriff’s office apologized for the inconvenience.

Arganbright said the steps were taken in order to help protect his staff and the general public from further spreading the COVID-19 virus.

He said his office is also asking residents that if they request a deputy for a call of service at their residence, that they let the dispatcher know whether they have been ill or have a fever. This measure ensures that deputies take proper safety precautions and minimize the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus.

Arganbright said he urges everyone to stay home and use the all precautions to prevent spreading the COVID-19 virus.
